There
are 2 versions of this CD-ROM - XP and Hybrid.
Identifying your version and a list of technical issues:
XP Version
·This version was released in February 2004 and is
recognizable by the XP compatible gold medallion on the lower
left front of the case. This is the only version that will install
and play on Windows XP.
·This version also installs and plays on Windows '95,
Windows '98, Windows '98SE, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows
ME, Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional.
·This version will not play on Macintosh Operating Systems.
·The Guided Tour is no longer available on this version.
·The printing of Animal Letters is no longer available
on this version but we have a wonderful line of products that
you can order which have our Animal Letters. (click here)
·There is a slight animation glitch with Zoophonia's and
Zeke's mouths while speaking. This does not affect content or
performance.
·If you encounter a run time error message or notice spelling
errors in "The Library," there is a patch available.
(click
here)
·You can proceed to the next frame by pressing the space
bar in the opening screens only.

Hybrid Version
·This
version was originally developed in 1998 and will install and
play on the following computers: Windows '95, Windows '98, Windows
'98SE, Windows ME, and Macintosh Operating Systems 7.5 to 9.0.
·The Hybrid Version will not play correctly on Macintosh
Operating Systems 9.2 and above.
·If you encounter the error "cannot write to disk,"
you must disable write protection software to allow the scores
to be kept.
·This game is dependent on Quik Time technology. If you
encounter any problems not listed here, check for multiple versions
of Quik Time recently installed on your computer. If multiple
versions are found, delete all and reinstall from the Read and
Spell
CD-ROM.

- Zoo-Fonts in English and Spanish
·Zoo-Fonts
will work on all PC and Macintosh Operating Systems.
·When installing the Fonts on Windows XP, change the Control
Panel to "Classic View" from "Category View"
to find the Font Folder.
·Due to the fact that the Fonts were created with an animal
on top of the letter (merged), or the animal alone, the letters
appear smaller. To make them larger, simply change the font size
in the application. If your font size selection is limited to
"72," simply highlight and type the desired number
in the box.
·Sorry, but there is no way to make perfectly "clean"
blank handwriting lines in the Zoo Trace Font. However, repeatedly
pressing the period key will produce usable lines. If your program
uses Auto Correct, turn it off, since after (3) periods in a
row it will "Auto Correct."
·If you are having a problem with a grayed out "install
new fonts," line or "install new fonts" is not
available on a Windows '95, Windows '98, Windows ME, or Windows
NT refer to the following Microsoft Support Document: http://support.microsoft.com:80/support/kb/articles/q133/7/25.asp
·If your CD did not include the merged Spanish Font, please
contact us at 800.622.8104 and we will promptly email you that
Font.
·Here are keystrokes to create the following Spanish characters.
To create these characters, hold down the "Alt" key
and use the numeric pad only.
ch = Alt 0231
ñ = Alt 0241
ü = Alt 0252
ll = Alt 0172
Ch = Alt 0199
Ll = Alt 0210
N = Alt 0152
